biography

Hello there! I’m Jess, I am passionate about design and illustration, and also food and drink.

I work with bars, restaurants, cafés and shops, to help them communicate their offering in a creative way.

I’ve always enjoyed the process of image-making. putting together different materials and textures to produce something visually interesting. 

The moment it sparked for me was when a secondary school art teacher brought in some Illustration agency brochures and left them on my desk. After discovering that was an actual thing (!?) you could do with your life I’ve been trying to spend as much time as possible creating ever since. I went on to study BA Illustration at Camberwell College of Arts and graduated in 2016 with a 1st degree.

I grew up in Essex, but I’ve been living in the South West of England for 4 years. I feel a kind-of spiritual pull to this side of the country. I like learning about local history, exploring by riding my bike and going for really long walks, especially when it’s sunny.

I love speaking to other people about their stories and points of view. My illustration comes from having conversations, understanding a story. I think a lot of our problems and worries can be solved just by having a really good chat in a space where it’s comfortable to do so. This is why I’m such a lover of pubs, cafes and restaurants. They are an asset to the community and an antidote to loneliness.
